We’re pleased to have the opportunity to give you a closer look at the Zeltfestival Ruhr (ZFR).
The basis of the festival concept consists of a 17-day conglomeration of concerts, high-quality gastronomy, artistic handicrafts and family entertainment . The ZFR is located on a site of some 25,000 square meters directly on Kemnader Lake, a highly popular recreation area in the heart of the Ruhr River District, or “Ruhrgebiet”, in the German state of North-Rhine Westphalia (NRW). The ZFR launched in 2008 and continued annually because of its great success. For the year 2011 the date is set for the 19th August through the 4th of September.

All shows are generally “One-Artist-Shows”, with advance ticket sales conducted individually for each show. There are no festival tickets for every event.

Our “Piazza” is ringed by over 80 arts and handicrafts exhibitors and dealers, along with some 15 carefully selected catering establishments from through- out the Ruhrgebiet, serving a seating capacity area of over 1,500 seats. This makes the ZFRs Piazza the largest open-air restaurant in the entire Ruhr District.

ZFR is located on Kemnader Lake - 8 km away from the main station Bochum. Shuttlebusses go every 30 min from main station to the festival ground.
